Things I already know (Mostly in order by timeline):
- One morning in the United States, George Floyd was out at a gas station buying some cigarettes’ when the store clerk noticed he was using a fake dollar bill to pay for them, which prompted them to call the police.
- After the police arrived, George Floyd started getting anxious more and more over time with the police, claiming he was claustrophobic, among other things.
- At some point during the encounter, he started getting more physical and fell on to the ground, in which one of the cops in particular, placed their knee on George Floyd’s neck.
- While the knee was on his neck, he claimed several times that he could not breath, but the cop in question did not reduce pressure on his neck. While this was going on, several bystanders started recording the police and demanded them to reduce the amount of physical force being used on George Floyd, notably with none of them either reducing the force or making an effort to do so.
- After a duration of around nine minutes, George Floyd passed out due to lack of oxygen and was rushed to the hospital, in which he was later pronounced dead.
- The official autopsy showed no lethal signs of outside trauma, however it made no mention that any drugs, including fentanyl, was a cause or primary cause of death, since, despite it showing up in the blood draw, it was in a quantity so small that it would not be lethal.
- Later on, the cop who had his knee down on George Floyd’s neck was later arrested and charged with manslaughter, eventually resulting in a convicting and prison time.
