Mayor Max II

A golden retriever dog that served as the second mayor of the unincorporated area of Idyllwild–Pine Cove, California, and is the second non-human to be elected to office within the United States, only after Mayor Max I, who passed away April 2nd, 2013.^{Los Angeles Times MayorMax} The County where Idyllwild–Pine Cove is located, Riverside County, officially recognized Mayor Max II as Mayor of the town.^{(YouTube, @MayorMax) MayorMax}
