- Unique cases that cannot be explained by with known information.
- Cases that show an important variation from the norm.
- Cases that show unexpected events that may yield new or useful information.
- Cases in which one someone has two or more unexpected issues.
Because of their anecdotal nature, its important to view these studies with caution, but they may be very useful when generating a general hypothesis.(Elston, Sloan, 2020, p. 1007) (Jenicek, Butterworth, 2001, pp. 860-861)
