Roger Stone is a libertarian conservative consultant and lobbyist,^(PBS) working with many conservative politicians over his lifetime, notably Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and Donald Trump.^{(New Yorker, Toobin) (PBS)}

He has been known as the “Dirty Trickster” since June 1st, 1974, linking him to the actions of the Watergate scandal.^{(The Dispatch, Anderson)}

Despite calling Stone a “stone-cold loser” in 2000^{(New Yorker, Toobin)}, and Stone quitting the 2016 campaign with Trump on bad terms,^{(Washington Post)} Trump would later call him a “good guy” and a “patriot,” “strong cookie,” and “loyal.”^{(YouTube, InfoWars [26:55])}

Despite him leaving the campaign on August 8th, 2015, he maintained contact with Donald Trump throughout the election,^(FEC) with Trump saying to the New York Times, “Years ago, I fired him and then he came back.”^{(New York Times)}

During the 2016 United States presidential election, Roger Stone would be involved with WikiLeaks and the Hillary Clinton e-mails scandal, which would end up leading him to being indicted from the Mueller special counsel investigation on January 24th, 2019,^{(DocumentCloud) (DoJ)} and being convicted on several felonies on November 15th, 2019.^(DoJ) Despite this, Donald Trump would pardon him on July 10th, 2020,^{(DoJ, Trump)} leading him to not serve any of his punishment. ^{(NPR, Kelly, Lucas, Romo)}

Roger Stone would also be involved with several right-wing groups, including the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers.

He would seek “protection” with the Proud Boys, with a GOP organizer saying “He was worried about getting killed,” and, “He gets death threats constantly.”^{(Willamette Week, Herron)} He began with the Proud Boys on or around March 3rd, 2018.^{(Twitter, @RealAlexJones)}

At some point the Proud Boys would post on YouTube a video of Roger Stone saying “I’m a Western chauvinist. I refuse to apologize for creating the modern world.”^{(YouTube, ProudBoys USA)} When asked for comment about this video, Stone accused the reporter of being a member of the Communist Party and did not answer any further questions.^{(Daily Beast, Weill)}
