All Americans should have the right to a free public education from PreK-12, including a free or low-cost option for public colleges and universities.

Dates and Times

Schools should not start before 8:30 AM and should generally end no later than 3:30 PM, with the amount of days within a school.

A standard school week should be four days long but only if a standard workweek is also the same length.

The standard school week should be four days a week, however, this should only be applied if workweeks are four days a week as well.

Lunch and Eating

All students should be eligible for a free lunch, as well as a 30 minute break at minimum each day, and meals provided at lunch should be edible and be required to meet certain health standards.

Students should be allowed to eat during class, as long as it’s not disruptive to the learning environment (i.e. strong smells/odors and loud chewing/crunching sounds).

Class Structure

A new standard for class structure across PreK-12 should be changed to be more relevant to the lives of children and future adults while also keeping core classes for basic activities.
