This class’s goal is to educate students on the following:

  • Three branches of government.
  • Local, State, and Federal distinctions.
  • How a bill is passed, both for the state they’re in and for the federal government.
  • How to vote for local, state, and federal positions.
  • Knowing your rights when up against the police and government/courts.
  • Understanding police procedure and court proceedings.
  • Understanding the constitution and how it applies to the modern age.
    • Reading the Federalist Papers.
  • Various political ideologies and the two predominant political parties, and common beliefs among them.
  • Knowing their current local representatives and government officials and how to contact local and state officials.
