All police officers across the country should require at least an associates degree in law.
If any of the following criteria are met, they cannot train or retrain to become a police officer until such diagnosis has been lifted, medically safe from a doctor, or are no longer suffering from symptoms.
- Under the age of 21.
- Diagnosed any mental illness.
- Diagnosed any physical illness that may impair their operations.
- Suffering any panic attacks, heart attacks, or strokes within the past month.
If any of the following criteria are met, then they must wait at least five years after such criteria has been met before they can begin training or retraining.
- Permanently barred from working at a police station for any reason.
- Put on temporarily on unpaid or paid leave at a police department.
- Discharged from military for misconduct.
- DUIs or equivalent over the past 2 years.
If any of the following criteria are met, then they may never work as a police officer.
- At least 2 violent felony convictions.
- Any domestic violence convictions.
- At least 3 violent misdemeanor convictions.
- Convicted of treason, insurrection, or conspiracy.
